KACPER FERTACZ
CINEMATOGRAPHER
Born in 1985 in Koszalin. Graduate of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Film School in Katowice. He worked as a Director of Photography on feature films, TV series, commercials, music videos and shorts. Member of the Polish Society of Cinematographers (PSC). Based in Warsaw.
He is a 3-time Golden Frog winner at Camerimage Film Festival: In 2014 for „Hardkor Disko” in Polish Film Competition, in 2016 for „Last Family” in Polish Film Competition and in 2021 for the music video “I Died”. For his debut feature „Hardkor Disko” he won Best Cinematography Award at Polish Film Festival in Gdynia (2014). In 2016 he won Best Cinematography Award at Chicago Film Festival for his second feature “Last Family”. His TV series „King of Warsaw” won the Polish Society of Cinematographers’ Best Cinematography Award for a TV show in 2021.
He has a background in VFX. He worked as Senior Digital Compositor on Lars Von Trier’s „Antichrist” and “Melancholia”. Also, he was a VFX supervisor and compositor on many music videos. He loves to collaborate on challenging projects that combine live-action with CGI.
He believes that natural looking lighting and thoughtful storytelling are timeless and most powerful.
